“How I met my Poe Other”
Carmen is from West Tennessee. Jeanie is from East Tennessee. We met in the middle in Mount Juliet, TN. We both grew up with a pleasure for Poe and a yearning to teach and inspire others, especially in all things Poe.

“I reside in Mount Juliet, TN and I have been an Educator for 19 years. I have been writing short stories and poetry since I was a young, nerdy girl around the age of 8; moreover, I also have been drawing and painting even longer than my writing. In the past few years, I have taken up photography as well. I also have been sewing since I was 5. I first was introduced to Edgar Allan Poe with the poem, The Raven, when I was in upper elementary. Since that time, I have engrossed myself with everything I can find, learn, read, research, and visit about Poe. I am overly ecstatic creating this POEcast with Jeanie to delve into providing others with all the connected degrees Poe has to offer.”

“I am a born and raised Tennessean. I currently reside in Middle Tennessee. I was an educator for 18 years and I am now retired. Reading, writing, and photography are my passions. I am also a professional storyteller, sharing stories for around 20 years. Stories I love telling the most involve historical accounts. I have had the pleasure of participating in some of the local storytelling festivals in Tenneessee. My other passion is being out in nature. In 7th grade, my English teacher introduced me to The Raven and Annabel Lee. The theme and the writing pulled me in due to the darkness and suffering, including the cadence of his writing that hooked me. I have always been a fan of sharing my knowledge and with the POEcast, I will be able to share my knowledge of Edgar Allan Poe with the world.”
